The Business Innovation Centre of Croatia – BICRO was founded by the Croatian Government in 1998 in order to implement technology and innovation support programmes. Since then we have grown into an innovation and investment company working with partners both from Croatia and abroad in creating programmes and new tools in order to support:

·         Proof-of-concept activities of scientists and enterpreneurs (Proof of Concept Grant Fund)

·         Cooperation between academia and industry (IRCRO Research and Development Programme)

·         Development of research and innovation infrastructure (TEHCRO Technology Infrastructure Development Programme)

·         Initial product development in young innovative companies (RAZUM Seed Capital Programme)

·         Access to venture capital funds for high-growth companies (VENCRO Risk Capital Industry Development Programme)

·         European competitiveness through cooperation among companies and research institutions in the field of advanced technologies (EUREKA Programme)

·         Technology transfer activities and network creation by coordinating the European Enterprise Network (EEN), module B

Today BICRO is a central institution in the national innovation system of Croatia supporting research advancement, technology development and innovation.

Successful and efficient support to technological development and commercial use of research outputs by creating financial, material and other conditions for existing and newly established companies in order to increase their competitiveness or facilitate introduction of new products or services to the market. 



VISION 


The Business Innovation Center of Croatia – BICRO is the key organisation within the national innovation system whose basic role is development and implementation of government support programmes aimed at strengthening technology development as the main generator of sustainable economic growth.

In order to acomplish our mission and vision BICRO works closely with universities, research organisations, entrepreneurs, industry, policy makers and individuals which are part of the innovation process.
